Installation and configuration of EssentialsX

EssentialsX is the absolute core of most Spigot and PaperMC servers. It adds over 130 useful commands, an economy system, join messages, and spawn and tpa commands. It forms the backbone of your server.

Plugin installation

1. Download the latest version from the official EssentialsX website or SpigotMC.
2. The basic EssentialsX.jar file will be downloaded, potentially along with add-ons like EssentialsXChat or EssentialsXSpawn.
3. Connect to the server via SFTP or the file manager in the panel.
4. Find the plugins folder and upload the downloaded .jar files into it.
5. Restart the server.

Basic configuration

After the restart, a new Essentials folder will be created in the plugins folder. Inside, you will find config.yml.

• Join and quit messages (custom-join-message, custom-quit-message).
• Spam protection (chat-delay).
• Economy (starting-balance).

Setting the Spawn (EssentialsXSpawn)

If you also uploaded the EssentialsXSpawn add-on, you can create a central point for players to teleport to. Connect to the server as an OP and walk to the place where you want the spawn to be. Then type into the chat:

/setspawn

Players will now be teleported to this location upon death and when entering the /spawn command.
